Hello tonysee200x,

Yes ... as I have over the last number of years ... I continue to talk with a wide range of people involved in law.

I had no idea that an investor what coming in ... hence my exclamation about the wild ride. I was looking at the stock at $.06 just weeks before ... and really don't follow the SCO situation on a daily basis.

When I wrote about what I was told ... that was from comments from my legal friends back when we reviewed the ruling by the judge. They felt that the non-compete being left intact was interesting from a legal perspective.

Remember ... this has nothing to do with technology, software, or source code ... this is now all about lawyers doing what lawyer do, and looking for ways to get the other guy to say uncle. It has been ALL about lawyers for years now ... not the truth, or what is right.

From what my friends have indicated, this is now all about lawyers doing battle ... and anywhere there are claims to pursue, they will be followed up on. As you said, they might owe Novell money, but they now appear to have that money to pay. Which means then the case moves on ...

I do know that the next cards to be played will be played in April (I believe) when the next hearings occur. I might have to head down to the court house one day if they are held here in SLC and I have some time to burn.

I'm not sure which direction things will turn, but it seems that someone out there feels good enough to put a $100 million bet on it ...

Also ... part of the original case that got lost was the IBM breach of contract ... or something like that ... which also has not been addressed. I'm sure we'll learn more, and I'll make sure to post anything that I hear related to it ...

As for the lottery ticket ... I'm still holding it. I did actually look to sell for a loss in 2007, but didn't need the write-off ... so we'll see what happens to the ticket in 2008.

All for fun ...
