wm, I think that considering fundamentals is useful in getting a head start with a position at lower cost before the crowd catches on. Have you been noticing the electric power distribution problems in the west? Copper is essential to power distribution. IMO higher energy prices also provide the potential for increased electrical energy demand and hybrid transportation, like partial electric cars. My local building code has been changed to outlaw plastic pressure piping for new homes, they now only allow metal (copper) for plumbing (plastic for waste is still allowed). That shouts copper as a future commodity to me.
