Police do a lot of nice things, and a lot of not so nice things (some of which I've posted elsewhere on SI). They do an important job. Some go above and beyond, like in the story I posted here. Others are corrupt, or abusive. And sometimes just doing the job involves things I see as not right (although that has to go more on the politicians, and at some point on the voters, if you think a law is wrong, the cop didn't create it.) Like any reasonably large group of people you have the good, the bad, and the complex grey muddle in between.
