Thanks for the informative post on Adobe.

Adobe's rise can be traced back to the acceptance of
its PostScript language which erased the distinction
between text and graphics. PostScript became the de facto
standard printer language, and Adbode the Gorilla.
From postscript, we got Type-1 & ATM (and got to witness
a Gorilla battle between Adobe and Microsoft), then Acrobat
which is a great way to publish on the web. The PDF
is yet to be challenged and will be very hard to dislodge.

I don't know much about image manipulation products. But I
do wish there was a simpler alternative to Photoslop: I'd
switch in the blink of an eye. (I am not a professional).
