Methinks its a might suspicious that Hector seems to be talking the stock down lately. Telling the world that you will have great products in 2008 and beyond does not exactly help AMD's stock price in the "here & now."

But "short term pain, long term gain" is EXACTLY what LBO investors would want to hear.

OTOH, I think it much more likely that IBM would take a big equity stake (but less than 50%), and AMD would manufacture Power 6's for them.
