The current pricing, IMHO, indicates a volume release of something from AMD within a month. I suppose that's Palamino, and not a paper release, either. Your reasoning seems pretty sound. However the conclusion is pure speculation. The new (and higher speed) part that you are talking about could also be just a higher speed Thunderbird. Do you not find it surprising that there have been absolutely ZERO leaked benchmarks for the Palomino? There were plenty of leaked benchmarks months before the original Athlons were released. I would hazard a guess that Palomino's will not be here in volume (or even released) till late in the 1Q 2001. (Which also ties in with a recent article at realworldtech that the Palomino release would be later in the Q than expected.). JMHO TG
