Excuse me, but do you have a premise for why a private company would establish a collaboration, and then fail to collaborate? I must admit not knowing any of the specifics about sales numbers on the IMII product, nor having followed the story at all except seeing the articles in Business Monday, nor even having laid eyes on the product, but it seems to me that the stock price of IMII speaks for itself. Not every product is a sucess, and not every idea for collaboration works out. If you are trying to say there was a lack of good faith somewhere, I suggest you speak carefully and truthfully (I'm certainly not implying that you haven't so far).

The giant Honeywell corporation tried to market a product called the ACS-1000 in the '70s which used XY servos hooked to a microscope stage, and a video system for characterization of blood cell types. Seemed like a good idea, but it was quickly and easily surpassed by automated technology. Plus it was a big, expensive, behmoth that only the most advanced labs could afford to 'toy' with. And the operator HAD to sit at the bench while it ran...

Anyway, I hope you get my point: in the good ol' USofA the voice of the market speaks loudly, and when someone has a better product, consumers generally buy it. Just bellyachin' about them not buying your product is not a paradigm for success.
