Hi Marc: The writer did not do his home work, there were many errors in the artical..ie > Unexpectedly, America Online of Dulles is too, through its ANS subsidiary. < that was a very missleading statement implying that AOl owns backbone..ANS CO+RE, is like a managing company and and a sub of AOL BUT: they lease backbone..they do not own it ! BBN is upgrading some stuff for them..ANS cant even maintain their own servers..but cable; forget it they have to rent it..and AOL is a proxy internet provider who is re-selling bandwidth.. Articals like that one in the washington post, pop up all the time, the PR of AOL..and their team of image makers sure get around. intresting at how what you read in the paper can be so far off base.. jim
