A friend of mine's son-in-law was a CPA and did some investing for his clients. He wasn't a good investor and things started going south. He went to a ponzi deal where he was using new money to pay the earlier investors. He always thought he'd find the right deal and cover everyone's money. His books got looked at and several people went belly up. Naturally there were some hard feelings and a bank donated a room just to gathering evidence against him. Put a sign on the door "Danny's room". 5 year statute of limitations and they waited 4 years and 51 weeks before filing charges to make sure they got everything. The wait wasn't pleasant for him.
