John,

CHARDONNAY was the bet. All you red wine drinkers are the same. You don't read and then run off half cocked fighting the wrong battle.

If the President, VP of Sales and CIO agreed on a business plan that involved implementing SFA and it so happened that the software purchase occurred in 1999 as part of a plan that was carefully laid out and executed over a three to five year period, fine. As CIO I'll sign the PO next year without hessitation.

That ISN'T the scenario we were painting so don't go changing the script. These ARE the sales SEBL will get next year. I'm talking about the ones they won't get. The ones that aren't already in the plan. The ones provoked by VP's of Marketing and Sales just now getting excited about SFA possibilities.

I NEVER said SEBL wouldn't get ANY sales next year and you have carefully identified the kind they will get.

As for being discreetly replaced for putting a vendor in its place that did an end run on me. Fine. I don't belong in an organization as messed up as that. Think about it.
