'Mission
Established in 1998, CY2KR is a grassroots, educational,
multi-service membership organization dedicated to helping
individuals / families / communities prepare for, and recover from
the disruptions of the "Millennium Bug". Although many citizens
are beginning to recognize the seriousness of the Y2K problem,
few of us have the time to do the necessary "legwork" - to
adequately research, evaluate, and implement an effective
preparedness plan. And that's where Citizens for Y2K Recovery
can help you. Acting as a clearinghouse, we systematically gather,
distill, and organize relevant information and convert it into a
practical, easy-to-use format. We emphasize the "practical"
approach with the appropriate use of checklists, summary
reports, and case histories.
CY2KR's primary objective is to develop, refine and disseminate
a set of Guidelines for community use in managing their Y2K
problems. Local Chapters play a pivotal role in accomplishing
that objective.
Advisory Council
CY2KR is fortunate to have the able assistance of a "blue ribbon"
panel of Y2K experts. The Council's primary function is to guide
the organization's strategic mission.
Vendor Relationships
An effective Y2K preparedness plan must include a wide variety
of products. However, it is CY2KR's policy to maintain an "arms
length" position relative to all product providers.
Financial Support
Citizens for Y2K Recovery is totally dependent upon the revenue
received from membership dues, seminars and published works.
We have no ties (financial or otherwise) with any commercial or
political entities.
