Com21, Comcast Sign Volume Purchase Agreement

MILPITAS, Calif., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Com21, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMTO - news), a leading global provider of system solutions
for the broadband access market, announced today that it signed a volume purchase agreement with Comcast Online
Communications, a division of Comcast Cable Communications, the country's third largest cable operator. Comcast's agreement
to purchase additional quantities of DOXport® 1110 cable modems follows a previous fourth quarter 2000 purchase of Com21's
latest cable modem offering. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Com21's DOXport 1110 cable modem is its most recent CableLabs® Certified(TM) modem, the first DOCSIS-certified modem
to use the Broadcom 3350 chipset. Additionally, the modem utilizes a dual-bank flash memory architecture with four MB of flash
memory. The extra flash memory allows for future enhancements as additional features and services are added to the DOCSIS
standard.
