Gottfried,>Had I known, I would have withheld my critical post. I've been there.< We all have. It is very difficulty to be non-emotional when we see our friends who have their own families to support and the emotions of being out of a job. We must have empathy for those going through such a tramatic experience. Investing and sound business practices, IMO, some times are in direct conflict with surviving in ones job. IMO, making decisions where there is such a conflict is one of the hardest decision in a managers life. I was glad that AMAT management was considerate enough at least to take a 10% paycut. At least it was a gesture. Paul V.
