Steve; SUN is typical of the proprietary types like Apple, and others. They want to have absolute control, and you need to waste time to get the rep, and then get the funny number to access parches etc. In fact the only poeple who want the stuff is SUN OS users, so leave it open and let the callers speak to anyone(I assume all are trained well enough) and then just go get from the server. The control mind set might just be fatal for SUN. If your system is so customized that only your rep knows what is what, and you have to get special SUNOS patches for your eyes only...... The you must pay one fat fee each month. And that is another killer for proprietary stuu like SUNOS. Bill
