I know and have worked with people who were educated in private schools. I see no difference in their schooling compared to mine. I know more than some of them, some of the time, and some of them know more, some of the time. Just like any cross segment of folk. As with many things, you get out what you put in.

It's a bit different with private colleges. I've seen many instances where someone was assumed to be smarter because they went to a certain school. Many times, it turned out the same as with high schools; some were smarter, others were not. But, they seemed to get an extra 'foot in the door'.

In our area, the big football powers have always been the local Catholic schools. I remember in junior high, when they came 'recruiting' to our school. They were looking for two sorts of kids: acedemics, and athletes. I guess Notre Dame has a great farm system. Now, if they could just do background checks... (Before any of you accuse me of being anti-Catholic, I was raised one, so I get a few knocks for free :)
