Jay, its amazing.. i run into "older people" such as today at the auto shop...the receptionist... in her late 40s... got into a conversation with her about computers, internet... she was talking about the things she has started to do on it... I hear these stories a lot...

And this is from people who A) Didnt own a computer 2 years ago
B) Didnt even know what www meant 1 year ago

The pace of change and influence is phenomenal... the web and internet is just being intertwined in our lives... to a point where it won't even be noticed...

Funny side story.. when i started college in '91, i got an email address.. I had to go to a special office in some backroom ... where some scary geeks roamed (sorry to you Comp Science majors) and request it... that was freshman year. Computers were all over campus (Univ of Michigan)... many empty most of the time, or basically used as glorified word processors....

2 years later... junior year (93) not only did they give out email addresses at ORIENTATION, but you couldn't BUY computer time because people were spending hours a night writing emails to each other... to people they could just pick up a phone and talk to... all that in 2 years time! LOL

One last thing.. if anyone is familiar with a company named NCSA Mosaic.. I always wonder what happened to them???... they were the 1st browser out there.. in like 92,93 perhaps... before Netscape ever came into the picture. Now they are nowhere to be found.

Shows you how a quirk in timing (the market wasnt ready for internet yet??) can change the fortunes of many people's lives.
