60 to 70% of homicides happen in urban areas. 60 to 70% of those are crime and drug related. Approximately 350 people are killed each year by police ACCIDENTLY. Approximately 350 criminals die as a result of justifiable police shootings. Approximately 100 police die by firearm homicides in a large variety of situations, headed by domestic disturbances. I think it is enough to understand homicides are significantly urban, crime and drug related. If you include the factors of age and race the focus narrows. Nevertheless it is criminals killing criminals.
