As always, MS doesn't get it. The irony I find is MS may be heading down a path to loose everything. Win98 and the browser integrated desktop (or IE4 for that mattter) is the start of the next pardigm shift to the Sun/Oracle/Netscape NC. In one word: JAVA. That virtual Java machine running on every desktop will be the developers platform of choice. Granted, it may seem a bit slow at first. Intel will stay happy with upgrades...for a while. Eventually, buyers will ask themselves, "why am i paying for all this overhead?" Then, they will go out a buy a slick new RISC/Java NC made by ?.

Maybe MS doesn't care. Maybe MS has wanted to be a cable company all a long.
