What are you talking about Chris? I have pricing facts on ISDN!

I talked to my local phone company GTE Hawaiian Tel and here's the numbers for ISDN:

Up until July - Free installation of ISDN line, usually $75. It does require a new line which is similar to an ethernet connection. By the way, very limited access. I used my office phone number for availability but if I had used my residential number I probably wouldn't have been available to connect.

ISDN modem is a recommended Bit Server Pro - Motorola for $360

128K transfer speed costs $44.15 per month for residential usage and $65.95 for business plus approx. $.0065 per minute.

LavaNet a local internet provider charges $65 per month for the 128K data-data connection and there is a $45 setup fee. This included unlimited access, oh boy.

So the total for 128K transfer speed is $44.15 from GTE and $65 from LavaNet plus 30 hours month @ $.0065 = $11.70 for a grand total of $120.85. Not including $360 for the modem and $45 + $75 for installation and setup charges is they aren't free.

So, if ISDN affordable for household usage?

Aloha
