Jon McHugh - Your message response to hcm is actually incorrect. Margin call is ultimately set by Fed Reserve Board, but most brokerage firms, as I'm sure a knowledgeable fellow as yourself knows, set more conservative required equity (i.e. 35%) above the floor of the Reserve Board. Additionally, most firms adopt risk management policies which will not allow clients to margin stocks which are less than $5 / share, due to volatility concerns. Please, before bickering at hcm, get your facts straight. PS - Im glad you are losing your shirt on this one.......cause Im out of the position :)
