Do you have any insight on this, John?

Nothing serious. I do know there were proposals in the original legislation to cut down on the number of unnecessary diagnostic trips but I don't recall how it would be monitored or determined or penalized. I do know the folk who worked on the issue were quite good and quite determined to get the job done, policy types who had worked on the issue for some time.

(As I type, I'm trying to recall the name of the healthcare analyst at Princeton, perhaps moved to Cornell, who worked on this issue for a very long time and was widely praised; the other person who may write about this in the near future is the doctor who wrote a couple or three terrific articles on the question for The New Yorker. Again name escapes me)

But I don't recall the final proposal nor what might have survived the legislative process.

I'm assuming two things, however. Enough of it survived to function to help reduce costs. And, if the complaints of my dermatologist or any indication, they do. And, second, we'll learn more about these effects when enough data becomes available, perhaps by this summer.
