Ask (bid) size, as I was told, should reflect the number of sellers (buyers) out there. More like the number of market makers bidding it or selling it. Thus, 5 bids-42 asks is like more sellers than buyers at this point in the market which the market makers have to absorb. Usually during the trading hour when this happens the price would go down. (vice versa)
Many things could happen over the night, however. I wouldn't be too into it until carefully watching the first hour tomorrow morning.
