Rick, <<I want to take the tax loss.>> Never take a tax loss unless you can't avoid it. Profit is profit and less of a tax loss is still in your benefit. You have unit the end of December to do anything. Buying before 30 days is just a wash sale that will straighten itself out when you sell later this year.
