Chaz,

<< Curious whether the RSA Security / Ericsson working arrangement covers GSM, CDMA or both? >>

Good question. I don't know. RSA encryption and PKI are new to GSM. I have not seen anything indicating that CDMA is using RSA encryption. I don't know.

I did however see this interesting blurb on the Check Point Software (CHKP) thread. It addresses one of the underlying issues that dictates the need for PKI and data security:

<< Stealing cards easy as Web browsing

msnbc.com

Net security will attract more attentions than before! >>

Also you might want to take a peek at this RSA wireless post"

<< Ericsson is now GSM, yet plans to use the Q's CDMA chips in its handsets, would seem that both would be included. >>

My antenna is up. I made a last minute decision not to attend the RSA 2000 conference but this week will have a lot of press releases and analyses flowing out of the conference. This is something to bring up on the Ericsson thread but the problem is PKI remains a subject that is complex, and relatively new and unless there are some folks lurking that are well grounded in cryptography (and that leaves me out) we won't get an answer. Most of the analysts are clueless, but I'm watching the news and commentary from the conference to see if any superstars emerge amongst the analysts or press.
