Windows 2000 is really not an upgrade path for Windows 98. Windows XP has all the functionality of Windows 2000 and Windows 98 (plus lots more) and is the designated upgrade path for both user sets. Do yourself a favor and go that route rather than struggling with W2K. Note that if you're an AOL user you'll want AOL 7.0 which is the version that is designed to work with Windows XP. You can pick up a free AOL 7.0 coaster at any Wal-Mart, Sears, etc.

As an aside, MSDN subscribers are able to download Microsoft products included in their subscriptions. See msdn.microsoft.com for details.
