Sir, the ability to admit that mistakes are made and the desire to correct them is the key to progress for individuals and societies. The inability to do so, is a guarantee for individual failure and an absolute corrupt society. I am glad you recognize the need to admit mistakes and am saddened that so many here think we the US are absolutely lilly pure white and sinless.

And it is the people who must admit mistakes first because Government is reluctant to do so unless prodded.
