Quackers or Putin's boys NATO should declare a no fly zone over western Ukraine. This would be an act of war and would entail destroying Russian airbases and AA emplacements. It would also require the destruction of the same facilities inside Belarus. If you do not understand that this is an option, you have no grasp of the current state of affairs. I have held the same position since February 24. Two ex SACEURs concur, it is what we should do. If Putin is willing to go nuclear today then he is going to be willing to go nuclear tomorrow. So the rest of the world has to let him or stop him, we should stop him and do it now. There is no theater of war in which the US can be beaten, hypersonic makes no difference at all. The toll continues to mount for Russia and Nabiullina has been clear, it is going to get very bad. Russian reserves and inventory have allowed them to weather the recent sanctions fairly well, that will end. Russia is cutting ties and burning bridges that will take generations to replace. Decades of progress, thrown away because someone powerful feels impotent. Russia can fight Ukraine but they cannot fight capital and they cannot fight technology. Those two theaters are costing them in a very real way, 12 dead Generals, 1 Black Sea Flagship. The cost of advancing is so high that Kadyrov is making announcements whenever they take a village. The new drones the US is giving Ukraine are making Russian advances ever more dear. Cost estimates continue to increase, Russia is spending capital to do no more than make a mortal enemy. Russians are very aware of a possible draft, the human cost of the conflict is very high as well. Canada continues to offer unwavering support to Ukraine and we are doing everything we can to help. Ukrainian refugees have started arriving here in my home town,they will be welcomed.
