FYI to all:

I am currently running a 486DX2/50, (really only runs at 40 mhz). I recently found a new excuse to buy a new motherboard and upgrade to a pentium. I found out by running a test software that although my Windows 95 can handle the Y2K change, my BIOS and my RT clock can't.

I went to Fry's Electronics recently asking about the motherboards and pentium processors. Asked the salesman about Y2K compliance. He told me to look for motherboards with a FX or VX chipset as these would be compliant. The interesting thing was that these represented only about 25% of the motherboards currently being sold at Fry's. I really think the public should really check into this when purchasing otherwise, their new motherboard will be obsolete very quickly....
