John French Kerry, the richest man in the Senate with a $675 million dollar fortune at last report, also drove Dean to near mentalism by suggesting Dean would raise taxes by $3,000 on non-rich people. "We can cut the deficit in half. We can be fiscally responsible," Kerry said, "but we don't have to do it on the backs of the middle class." Dean snapped about "Washington politicians promise people everything!" Whoa! Dean's supporters want exactly that: the government to do everything because they think we're all idiots - and they want you thinking that too so we'll put them in power.
