I would repeat... ..If someone is banned from posting on a board "..NOT STARTED BY SI.." (..i.e.: a Moderated Board started by the efforts of a member from whom SI obviously profits..), the Banee clearly has the option of PM'g the Monitor and asking for reconsideration. If they still don't make the cut, they can obviously whine to SI - who should really butt the hail out - regardless.
The Moderator's opinion should be respected. That person started and supports the board - not some periferally uninvolved hall monitor from SI whose primary responsibility is TOS complaints and the pursuit of the ever-evil activities of the permiscuous provocateurs of that inisidious crime - SPAM.
If SI is going to continue having the option of Moderated boards, then don't "..force yourself..", like some meddling Arkansas drop-out, upon those boards as a 'Guardian ad Litum' for someone who has clearly been offensive in the past - earning their Ban from their own behavior or harassment.
The Banee can, in 10 minutes or so, start his own board on the same subject - where they can bash, wail, whine, bellyache, bitch, issue epithets and innuendo, and make all of the typcially unfounded personal accusations and insults they wish.... And, anyone who is truly interested in their typically bellicose diatribe can boardmark that new board and revel and salivate over all the moosh that is posted there.
Obviously, there are very few duplicate boards on SI, so anyone banned from a board has pretty much admitted that they had no real interest in the issue to start with...!!!
