But mobile radio is still not the same as cellular. With mobile radio both parties have to have the same type of phone.

Does anyone know what Nextel's cellular rates are. I tried to call Nextel directly and they said that they only sell to businesses. My suspicion is that their cellular rates are somewhat expensive, Nextel would rather have everyone on their network. This could be good long term, but in the short term it may limit their growth, as they would likely target say, eg. police departments, who have traditionally used mobile radio but have a need for cellular as well.
