10:21 ET Applied Materials (AMAT) 55.16 +2.22 (+4.2%): -- Update -- Technical -- Moderate gains in early trade following the pre-open upgrade (see 08:12 comment) but thus far has stalled out at the bottom of the May 23 gap at 55.78. Intraday move back through 55.4 argues for another run at the highs with the top of the gap resistance at 56.55. Initial supports on failure are at 54.50 and 53.80.
