Oddly enough, you seem to be the only one unable to connect the dots --between Louisiana/Mississippi's homeless and Israel's uprooted settlers. Clue:
U.S. shouldn't be paying settlers

As the Israeli settlers are finally moving out of Gaza, extra financial awards are being negotiated at U.S taxpayer expense. Given that the agreement to leave this territory will remove a tremendous amount of future burden for Israel on prime West Bank territory, and the Palestinians will save some face by gaining back the dormant Gaza Strip, the final slap in the face to U.S taxpayers should be halted before it reaches its climax.
Demands and suggestions are being made that the United States should pay up to $2 billion for supporting the 9,000 Israeli settlers in their move back to Israel. Broken down mathematically: $200 million for 900 residents, or $20 million for 90, or $2 million for 9, or over $25,000 per person. That means a family of four would receive close to $900,000 for leaving to other parts of Israel.
Clearly there was a materialistic gain for entering into this settlement area. However, if the United States was to make this payment, how would the taxpayer know whether these families received this money or if the money somehow ended up in Switzerland or the Cayman Islands. Some families that have six to eight children would become millionaires under a fair settlement plan.
If, after receiving payment, the peace settlement breaks down, will the money be returned back to the U.S. taxpayer if Israel resettles these areas? Clearly paying off a country for its own responsibility should be not the main concern of the United States taxpayer when the United States is coming close to spending over $500 billion on the Iraq war.
