I heard commentary today that it's the value of the dollar that has the most effect, not necessarily supply and demand.

Gas is almost $4 a gallon and diesel is $4.50 here. I don't see any less traffic on the many fewer days I go out. Apparently gas is still cheap, or people would drive less like I do.

I wonder if the powers that be are just trying to find out how much the traffic will bear.

At $15 a gallon, we'll see real innovation, and we won't need government subsidies on ethanol to solve the problem.
