Check out this link for a time warp chuckle. The date was Feb 95, and the article had industry watchers saying "...yeah, AOL has 2 million subs, but just wait until MSN and AT+T get cranking."

And the token news bit that proved their tech was no good and they were insensitive to their subs: A 2 hour e-mail outage on Valentine's Day (sniff, sniff...tug that heartstring) due to a decision to put in a software upgrade.

Shieldsg, you said:

<<AOL has a big head start on any other competitor. And despite forgetting to tie their shoes, then loosing one in the race (now going back to fetch it), their still ahead.>>

That is a balanced (and funny) assessment of the state of affairs in consumer online access.

Everybody notice announcement that Compuserve is on the market? At HR Block annual meeting the acting Prez said...."make us an offer, please"

Maybe MSN oughta scoop it up? Or Disney, Duncan?

Side comment to Jim: You are correct, I still don't see this company as a scam. I use their product, am receiving good value, and report accordingly. My understanding is, you are not a user of their service, but rather a competitor, and it is also my opinion that your agenda is showing.
