RE the supreme court, here is a horrifying scenario: The court stays as it is until a Republican is elected in 2016. Seven of the nine members are either in their 70's, or in questionable health for longevity. Both Kagan and Sotomayer are too heavy. If the Republican president were in for 8 years s/he could end up nominating up to 7 new justices. Altio and Roberts are young and healthy. That would give them a 9 to 0 majority. Imagine. The Republican's have had a strategy of appointing young healthy right wing justices and the dems have not been doing that.
