There is a comment window you can
use if you donate online. I didn't
think to put anything in it--but
"Biotech Stock Picking Contest"
would do the trick.

I'm guessing total pledges a couple
years ago peaked around $5k, and
maybe this year fell off a bit to a
few grand. I'd think most folks on
SI are likely to honor their pledge,
even if they are not active on the
biotech threads...after all, this isn't
Yahoo. Nuff said.

There is a little residual benefit too--
a few things show up in the mail from
time to time. The Lane County Oregon
shelter sends out mail once or twice
a year. Come to think if it, I've not seen
a letter yet, soon.

I don't know if this is true for others--
but the big polished _Cancer or _Lung
(or whatever) causes are nice non-profit
businesses machines, but these little
outfits probably deserve greater consideration
for spare dollars, IMO. Cancer wont be cured,
and there are billions of R&D chasing that anyway.
But a hundred bucks here and there and there,
why not?

Let's hope we get a whole slog of entries
for the next contest. Maybe SI can sweeten the
deal with a special Tee Shirt and a photo on
the website. I'd pick extra good stocks for the
chance for some fame, heh!
