On Warren Buffett:

His co. disclosed late Tues. it acquired 130 M oz. silver.

He has legions of followers who track his every move, and feels the common stocks at the moment, are a bit rich. Since Buffett's company, Berkshire Hathaway began buying silver in July, it has gone up about 62%.

Further silver has gone up about 25% the last 4 days.

In 1980, the Hunt bros. of Texas tried to corner the market and drove prices from about $6 to $52.50. Unfortunately, the silver market eventually collapsed and the Hunts lost $1B or so.

Unlike the Hunts, Buffett's company has deep pockets and silver represents just 2% of its holdings.

Last year Buffett was est. to be worth about $21B putting him 2nd only to Bill Gates in ranking of the 400 wealthiest Americans.

Berkshire Hathaway, the most expensive stock traded in the U.S., rose $200 on Wednesday to close at $52,800 / share on NY.
