The C to F calc is one I do in my head all the time, but I have found many people get confused when I explain what I am doing. The chief issues seems to be whether to add or subtract the 32, and whether to do that before or after you do the multiplication. It is second nature to me, but even without that the key is to remember that 32F = oC

Canadiansm,heavily exposed to American media using the old imperial units, also tend to know the following equivalences

10C = 50F
20C = 68F
30C = 84F

Other equivalences we tend to know

30 mph = 50 kph
50 mph = 80 kph
60 mph = 100 kph

These aren't perfect but good enough for everyday life.

And most Canadians are pretty seamless between kilograms and pounds.

To me, it is good to to be comfortable with both metric and imperial units, just like it is good to know as many languages as you can.
