I have sold puts on AAPL at what I felt was a bottom or near a bottom, 6 times, and been profitable each time.

I agree, it's going much lower, but the fear of a big earnings blowout, or earnings miss, makes it easy prey for those who want it to close at certain prices, or those computers who simply act based on percentage gains or losses.

If I were to short the stock, I would be tying up a lot of capital for a long time, and honestly probably get stopped out more than once. One announcement of AAPL TV or some other alliance, or innovation could blow me outta the game. I prefer a day or two in the options market, and then say adios until the next week or two.

Sold the AAPL $525 a while ago. 41/2 hours to go. Nice risk/reward for the premium and can always get out for a small loss.
