From the weekly gaming report Diamondhead Casino Corp. announced that Trump Entertainment Resorts notified them that they completed the necessary due diligence activities relating to the letter of intent signed regarding DHCC’s Diamondhead, Mississippi property and expects to move forward with negotiations relating to a joint venture agreement to develop, build and operate a destination casino resort on the DHCC property. The joint venture, if consummated, will cover a minimum of 40 acres within a 404 acre tract of land owned by DHCC’s subsidiary. While this is great news for both DHCC and TRMP, it also could have an affect on the plans to develop a casino near there by Isle of Capri Casinos, and the existing Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis from Penn National Gaming. It is too early to really start saying who will win and who will lose in this but if DHCC and TRMP do this right, it could change the landscape of gaming in this region.
