Hi Dave:
I see you have been following SLNK for a while and was hoping to get your take on the company now and its proposect. I hate to admidt it, but I heard some guy hosting a talk radio show on stocks (on a local 24 hour business radio station in DC) hyping it and I called his office for the "free report." (I wonder how many calls and pieces of mail will that ""free report" call cost me?)
Anyhow, they sent an article from ValueLine stating they have a 1999-2001 potential value of $23, yet rated them a "hold" (this was in December). They also sent a Robertson, Stehpenson and Co. research report, updated 1/27, rating it as a "Buy" with a short term target of $8 to $10. On 2/27 I see they announced a 500,000 share buyback program.
Thus, based on the limited info they sent, and stuff on their Internet site, I figured it was well worth looking at, but one can not help but to notice the slide from $10 to $3 and the lackluster earnings.
What do you see as the short term and long term prospects of this company? Are they sliding due to increased competition or inferior technology? Any info or advice you, or others, could share would be appreciated.
Thanks. |
