ISIS is a legacy problem resulting from our 50 year addiction to mid-east oil and our need to constantly intervene to protect the oil. We don't need that oil. we have propped up kings and dictators and continue to do so. It should not be a surprise that many in the Arab world hate us.

The answer is not to conduct another in a series of endless military interventions but to withdraw completely from that part of the world. Eventually the crazies will wind up on Russia's doorstep and Vlad the Impaler can deal with them for the next 50 years.

A lot of Democrats are mouthing the Republican Military Industrial Complex line that these losers are a threat to the U.S. It happens that the War Department has conveniently located arms makers in virtually every Congressional district.

As soon as civilian casualties mount up on the ground our so called allies in the mid-east will desert us and when one of our pilots gets captured and beheaded the game escalates.

Viet Nam is a good comparison, but back then we had the Draft. With the volunteer army we are set up for endless war.
