Very unusual. But I believe it is a "Bob" issue, not a HPQ issue. (I believe it was Robert Wayman, but all I have is "Bob"). Sometimes a numbers guy will loose perspective on the bigger picture of accounting. I know they did a boat load of work to make q 1 and 2 restate so that the numbers could be compared.

Stock analysts, as a whole, don't understand accounting too much, and I think the questioner thought he was playing hide the weenee when all he was doing was trying to make the numbers more nearly clear and he was upset with that.

That seems to be what laura conigliaro thinks at goldman sachs.
