I have a small orchard. Several combination cherry trees. A couple of doughnut peaches. a few combination apple trees. And a couple of plumb and pear trees. Yesterday I was was in middle of grafting some new variety of pear and a gardening scissors fell next to my foot as I was stepping down and it went right up along my ankle. Long story short, I was bleeding for a couple of hours and needed a dozen stiches. It was not fun and the pain stopped me from sleeping all night. But now it doesn't hurt so long as I don't step on it. But I have to finish the grafting b/c I already prepped the scion and can't keep it too long.

Still, I cannot let this incident stop me from enjoying the nature. In addition to the herbs and trees, a number good looking birds are constant visitors...unfortunately they also see to it that I hardly get any cherries...now if only I could get an eagle or hawk to make a nest here <g>
