Owls are a marvel of nature. Seriously, I don't think any other bird can compete with them in terms of sensory development and singlemindedness as a predictor. We have some owls and hawks in my neighborhood. I think I've even seen an eagle. Once my foot gets better (and if my wife doesn't kill me <g>) I will try to build nest friendly environment for them on top of my trees and see if they accept the invitations. The trees are 80+ foot high, so it will take some doing to climb them.
