HI E_K_S,

I definitely am.

I have 10,000 shares in an IRA - which I'm now doing RMD's.

I have the first year covered, but think I'll peel out the remaining AMNF, and take the nice growth and transfer a larger than required group of stocks to my taxable shares.

I'm thinking of moving my KMI, CVX, and XOM to my taxable account. None of those shares are big quantities that would bump my cost average up. I have enough cash in account to make three years without selling. If we get a dip in the market, I'll transfer all of those shares (hopefully at lower values) and blend them into my cost and close out the IRA.

That will cap the tax rate to 20% max.

I hate to burn cash on that but paying personal income rates on it forever seems like an excessive rate to pay forever.

Been chewing on that for several years. No easy way out, except to grab a windfall gain and get it over with ASAP!

I did enjoy not paying taxes on the accumulated funds.

Those shares will be made "cash" well before $15ish.

Bob
