8/6/10 Update
Despite Friday’s lousy employment report, Wall Street’s Bulls did not fall down on the job and stocks managed to finish the week with a gain. At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index moved back in the black for the year and is now up .85% YTD (vs. down -.64% YTD a week ago). Biotechs had an even better week than the broad market and the Nasdaq Biotech Index closed up 2.89% YTD (vs. down -.90% YTD a week ago), while the Contest median closed up an impressive 6.95% YTD (vs. up 4.41% YTD a week ago).
ROCKY's portfolio (up 49.93% YTD) held on to the Contest lead, but barely, with No. 2 DEWDIL’s portfolio (up 49.56% YTD), just a smidgen behind. FILO's portfolio (up 33.04% YTD) remained in third place. At Friday's close, 20 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black with 18 of the 32 beating the NBI.
