Hi Lee, sorry it took so long for me to respond. It was a beautiful wkend in Pennsyltuckey (PA), so I managed to LJD-it and truly stay away from the net and watching AXC. Now I've got a few messages backlogged to respond to!
Anyway, although my profile says I like Lombard, I have yet to send in the actual application and start trading with them. However, I have used their intraday charting feature almost everyday for the past year and a half. I think it "was" great, and very often "was" darn near real-time. I say <was> because about two weeks ago, I noticed that I was not able to get these graphs anymore. I don't know if they are limiting public access overall or just limiting me. I'm hoping that they are not doing this across the board, that is, that their limiting is also hurting their clients.
I am going to submit the application, I just need to get off my duff and get to the bank to do a cashier's check, etc. I do like the charting service, and I understand from a friend of mine that trades are executed very quickly and at good prices. The commission pricing is excellent also, and there doesn't seem to be many hidden charges that are present with many of the other deep, deep discount services. One thing I did read on this thread about two or three months ago, were reports of Lombard reporting false halts in trading. I don't know the validity of these reports, but I thought they bore mentioning. I haven't talked to Lombard to determine the present availability of their graphing. BTW, during business hours, I have never had any trouble getting someone to talk to there. I guess I've called with questions on the app. and their internet services about 6 or 7 times. Lombard, I believe, was just recently bought by Dean-Witter - Discover; you may want to verify this - if it matters.
I know this probably isn't the definitive answer you were looking for, Lee, since I still have the app. in my hand, but it's an honest opinion of what minimal experience I do have w/ Lombard. I'll try to remember to pass on future experiences. I hope this helps some.
Best regards,
