Alliance Semi (ALSC) 13.35 -0.30: Company warns for Q1 (Jun); sees revenues of $14.9-16.5 mln versus the current First Call consensus of $24.0 mln; cites very weak demand for DRAM and SRAM, but notes that it has seen some improvement recently in turns business that could possibly result in a better Q2.

Calif. Amplifier (CAMP) 4.41 -0.59: Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary, Michael Ferron, has advised the company of his intention to resign his positions; a search for a replacement is underway and Mr. Ferron will assist in the transition of a newly appointed Chief Financial Officer.

Spectrian Corp (SPCT) 16.03 -0.32: Company warns for Q1, expecting loss of $0.70-0.87 vs current First Call EPS estimate of ($0.26); cites weaker than expected market conditions. "We are feeling the impact of the economic downturn, particularly in North America and Korea. Our industry is experiencing a reduction and deferral of capital spending. We have poor visibility into the duration and breadth of the economic downturn and its impact on the overall market growth in fiscal 2002," said CEO.

Gemstar-TV Guide (GMST) 38.90 -1.10: Reuters reports that the U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether Gemstar-TV Guide has violated U.S. antitrust laws in its bid to dominate the market for interactive television programming guides.

Networks Assoc (NETA) 14.23 -0.71: Company cancels appearance at Bear Stearns Tech Conference, no reason given. Briefing.com reported a rumor this afternoon on In Play that NETA pulled out of the conference.
